our mission

LOVE GOD.  CARE FOR ONE ANOTHER.  SHARE THE GOSPEL.

Sometimes churches over-complicate things.  We don't.

We are recipients of the greatest gift that has ever been given:

life through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

In the Bible we are taught to

LOVE GOD,

CARE FOR ONE ANOTHER,

and SHARE THE GOSPEL.

love god.

MOTTO

When responding to His critics Jesus stated:

"You shall love the Lord your God will all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.  This is the great and first commandment!”

Matthew 22:37-38 ESV

At FBCWM we believe that LOVING GOD is our primary objective.  Serving Him is merely a natural outflow from the most basic response that we should have to the Gospel, being completely head-over-heels in love with Jesus Christ!

METHOD

We strive to meet this primary goal by the means of our Morning Worship!  Tender care, prayer, and planning go into gearing all those present in this service into loving Jesus Christ.  During Sunday Morning Worship the preaching and studying of the Word is the priority.   Prayer is not merely a tool for transition during morning services, on occasions it will be the entire focus of the service.  The purpose of our music isn’t primarily entertaining, but competent—intentional and genuine.  The most earnest goal of each service is to lift up the name of Jesus in such a way that Believers are drawn closer to Him.

care for one another

MOTTO

If loving God is our most basic response to the Gospel then Jesus makes it clear what flows from that:

“You shall love your neighbor as yourself”

Matthew 22:39 (ESV)

At FBCWM we believe that loving God propels us to genuinely care for one another.  While it is true that we should love all people, there is a special priority that we should place on the church.  We desire to build a community of believers that esteem one another as greater than themselves (Phil 2:3).  From the New Testament we can understand that discipleship and fellowship always occur simultaneously.  As we care for one another, we will push one another towards the same goal!

METHOD

By its very nature caring for one another is not something that can be forced.  We try to cultivate an environment of brotherly love through our weekly Sunday School classes and small groups.  As these groups meet weekly our aim is that they study the Word in an environment that is built on building relationships.  Our Sunday School program is a traditional and effective way of fellowship and discipleship.    We accommodate small groups who wish to meet at different times weekly or in different places in lieu of the traditional Sunday School hour.

share the gospel

MOTTO

Perhaps the greatest privilege afforded to mankind is the privilege given to the church of SHARING THE GOSPEL with the world!  Listen to Jesus’ last words to His church while He was on earth…

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

 Matthew 28:19-20 (ESV)

It is the aim of our church to gear men and women, boys and girls, into sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.

METHOD

It is vitally important that we offer our church members a variety of opportunities to share the gospel.  If we expect them to do it individually, it ought to be taught and encouraged corporately.    One Sunday Night a month our church participates in group mission projects at a variety of places.
