  • Johnny Coggin

    Associate Pastor for Music Ministry

In the summer of 2018, God brought Bro. Johnny Coggin to our church to minister to us through music.  Johnny is known in the Mid-South for his love for Jesus and musical ability.  Raised in South Alabama, Bro. Johnny grew up in the church and at the age of 16 surrendered to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Two years later, at the age of 18 he surrendered to God's call on his life into the ministry.

Bro. Johnny graduated with a Music degree from the University of South Alabama and has a Master of Christian Education from Mid America Baptist Theological Seminary.  For over 50 years, Bro. Johnny and his wife, Linda, have faithfully served the Lord side by side in music ministry.  Together they have two sons, two daughters, and ten grandchildren, who are all serving the Lord in their churches.

In his free time, Bro. Johnny and his wife enjoy reading, streaming British TV, spending time with their children and grandchildren, and cheering for the Alabama Crimson Tide!

Lee Beaumont is currently serving as our Next Gen Associate Pastor.  Lee is known for leading the next generation to be the church of today, guiding them to find their place of service within the church and community.  A Native Memphian, Lee felt the call to come back to serve the West Memphis area.  He is married to his best friend, Caitlyn, and they have two children, Oliver and Posy.  In his free time, Lee enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, woodworking, and cheering on his youth at their extra-curricular activities.

Brian grew up in the church and was saved at an early age.  During his teenage years, he strayed away from the Lord.  But as an adult, Brian was drawn back to the Word of God and a right relationship with God.

He joined the FBC staff in February, 2018, and serves as our Maintenance Supervisor. Brian and his wife, Rita, have two children: a son, Elijah, and a daughter, Annaleah.  Brian's interests include cooking (having previously owned his own restaurant), Ole Miss football, family, and working on home projects.

  • Sarah Sagaskey

    Next Gen Children's Director

We at First Baptist Church West Memphis are so blessed to have Sarah, Richard, Micah, and Sophie Sagasky to be apart of our church family.  Sarah serves as the Next Gen Ministry Assistant, and covers all things Children Ministry related.  And there is not a better spot for her, with over 14 years of experience in teaching Kindergarten, which she still does!  Her love for kids and their families is evident in all she does.  She strives and works so that each child in the Children’s Ministry here at FBCWM is loved and taken care of and learns about the Bible and hears the Gospel in an easy to understand, child friendly way.  She works tirelessly to make sure the families at FBCWM are informed and equipped with whatever they need to help their kids grow closer in their walk with Jesus.  Her love for these kids is shown in how she loves her own family.  She and Richard met while working in the Cracker Barrel here in West Memphis and they have been married since December 2006. They have two awesome kids in Micah and Sophie.  Sarah has said that her hobbies are “whatever my kids are doing.”  That is who she is though, a family oriented woman who loves to see kids and families grow in their knowledge and understanding of the Bible and to see them grow closer in their walk with the Lord.  So when you come to visit, you can rest assured the Sarah will care for your kids like she does her own and they will be in good hands.
